What is this position about?
Sales and success!! The GoodNews.com Account Manager will be a key player in building new business and hitting the targets at the business account level that will drive our organization’s success. You will get to work with an amazing team, led by the VP of Sales and you will have every opportunity to further hone your already existing prowess at both hunting and relationship-building.
As the Account Manager, where do you fit in the GoodNews.com Org Chart?
You will be part of the founding Sales team and will report directly into the VP of Customer Success (Sales and Customer Service). We will add Regional Managers as we grow and this role will report into that position (or maybe you’ll get promoted into one of those roles).
What will ‘accountabilities’ look like for the Account Manager?
Meet and Exceed monthly and quarterly revenue goals by understanding your local market, identifying potential customers and creating solutions that help grow their business and generate funds for affiliated causes (non-profits).
Build long-term business relationships by overseeing the management and growth of existing accounts in partnership with your Account Development Coordinator.
Build long term relationships with non-profit organizations in your local community to help raise awareness of Goodnews.com as a desirable fund development partner.
Be the expert in your market, developing a clear understanding of the opportunities and challenges and coming up with ideas on how to best capitalize on them.
Understand the value in recording progress; maintain and track your sales activity within available tracking tools so your team knows where you’re at and how they can help.
Foster, support and value the team environment in working with colleagues within GoodNews.
Skills
What do you need to have in order to be ready for this opportunity?
You’ll need to have spent 5+ years of high-level, strategic selling skills derived from working in multi-layered, service based environments, B2B at both mid and C-levels
Self-motivation and tenacity! You love to hunt and you’re driven to succeed
You love to collaborate and you’re a pro at using direct and indirect influence to achieve success. Influencing at all levels both internally and externally is something you’re already doing well.
A strategic mind. You want to stretch and think strategically in order to develop the vision for sales and help get there
You’re a relationship builder. You easily build rapport and trust with key decision makers and internal stakeholders, you’re a brilliant communicator and you understand the importance of building partnerships at all levels within an account
You’re already connected in the local market and can leverage those connections
You believe in community involvement and a history of volunteerism or helping local causes
You’re ready to spend the time around town in your local market to build the contacts and achieve results and you have the valid driver’s license and vehicle that will let you do so
You understand and love social media strategy and want to use it wherever possible to further your vision
