A Leading Systems Integrator and supplier of High Technology Systems and Services are currently in the process of building up new team of IT Professionals. One of the new positions in this team will be for a junior Java or C++ Developer to work in the Gloucestershire region. This will involve working on a number of new and exciting green site projects based on a £200 million contract.

Requirements

 Full lifecycle experience of developing at least one Java or C++ software application
 UNIX or Windows operating systems
 Designing new application’s using UML or simular products
 An ability to take control of your own mini projects
 Capable of working and thinking about the bigger project/programme picture,

My client has great motorway links to their site and this role can easily be commuted to from Bristol, Cheltenham, Swindon, Wales and Worcester.

Are you a skilled database developer that want to join our tech team to further develop the technical platform? The database is the foundation of our service to provide content to our alaTest websites and partners. You will work to improve the overall process of collecting, structuring, and presenting review data. We work with various Open Source solutions, e.g. Apache, MySQL and PHP and our servers run Linux.

You are comfortable with and interested in shared ownership of code, TDD, CI ,agile development, open source technologies, etc. You might already be a hard-core Python programmer, or you might be coming from a Java background and interested in leveraging your experience using new tools. Job Requirements

An academic degree or equivalent experience of database development.
5+ years of database design.
Know SQL, Python, Java.
Experience of some of the following techniques is a plus: Lucene, Solr, data integration, BI, Data Mining, Dimensional Modeling, Reporting Tools, Hash indexing, ORM, XML, SQLAlchemy, Pylons, Natural Language Processing experience, statistics, correlation methods.
Good team player and able to take own initiatives.
